I was very fortunate to be on their 70th and 75th D-Day celebration tours. The service and attention to details was exceptional. It was very moving to go back.

Meet your battlefield tour guide in central London. Full day city tour focussing on WWII London. Visit to St Paul’s cathedral, which includes a memorial to the Americans based in Britain who died during the conflict. See the church that was destroyed by the Blitz of London. See the memorial to the US pilots that flew in the RAF Eagle Squadrons during the Battle of Britain, the Glen Miller bar, the square used in the filming of Masters of the Air which was transformed into a bomb blast site, visit the Churchill War Rooms and finish with an afternoon tea in the Old War Offices, which have now been transformed into a 5 star hotel, but retains its historic character, charm and clear links to the days when Churchill, John Profumo, Ian Fleming, Lord Haldane and many others walked the corridors. Overnight London.
Location, Location! Today you will visit locations used for the filming of Masters of the Air; see villages that were transformed into Norfolk villages and a town which was transformed into a bombed-out street and bomb shelters. Visit two pubs which in the series were both used as drinking stops for the 100th bomb group. Return to London for overnight.
Depart London. Visit to IWM Duxford, located on a wartime airfield and includes the largest collection of USAAF aircraft in Europe, and the American Air Museum which serves to commemorate the USAAF sacrifice in WWII – get up close to a B-17, the iconic planes used by the 100th bomb group and of which two full sized replicas were created for Masters of the Air. Visit the Cambridge American Cemetery and Memorial - the only military cemetery in the UK that commemorates American servicemembers and civilian volunteers who died in WWII. The Walls of the Missing includes the name Alton Glen Miller. Continue to Cambridge for a walking tour including the pub visited by American Airmen, still with the graffiti to be seen on the walls. Overnight Cambridge.
Head into East Anglia with a series of visits to some of the many abandoned wartime Airfields that once resounded to the roar of the engines of US Bomb Groups and their Fighter Escort Wings, including Thorpe Abbotts which as depicted in Masters of the Air is where the 100th Bomb group were based. Sure to be a memorable day as we follow the likes of Col Jimmy Stewart, Glenn Miller and Bob Hope. We will also have time to reflect on the experiences of the Pilots, Mechanics and Support Staff who kept the aircraft flying and made the US Eighth Air Force, Mighty! Return to Cambridge for overnight.
