Itinerary

Day 1

Tuesday, 4 June 2019

Depart London very early in the morning. Ferry sailing to Normandy. DBB at Normandy hotel. Or Depart Paris. Drive to Normandy hotel. DBB.

Day 2

Wednesday, 5 June 2019

Attend the Airborne ceremonies in Ste Mere Eglise and Carentan. See the famous Ste Mere Eglise church with its Airborne stained-glass windows and teh Airborne museum. Visit La Fiere bridgehead and its 'Iron Mike' U.S. Airborne statue. Subject to weather we will watch a parachute drop. Drive through the 101st Airborne drop zones C and D then see the Division command post. Pass Brecourt Manor, captured by The Band of Brothers Company E of the 506th Parachute Infantry Regiment. Utah beach and museum. DBB.

Day 3

Thursday, 6 June 2019

We take part in the various ceremonies and remember those who gave their lives to defeat Hitler. There are numerous events planned which will be attended by many Heads of State and we will attend as many as possible. Box lunch. DBB.

Day 4

Friday, 7 June 2019

The German military cemetery at La Cambe and Pointe du Hoc, captured by the U.S. 2nd Ranger Battalion. Vierville Draw and 29th Infantry Division sector of Omaha Beach. Drive up 'Les Moulins' Draw to the U.S. Military Cemetery at St. Laurent sur Mer. Lunch on your own. The British sector with the only German coastal gun battery still sporting three of its four guns. Arromanches and the remains of an artificial harbor erected by the Allies after D-Day. DBB.

Day 5

Saturday, 8 June 2019

British Beaches GOLD, JUNO and SWORD and the British 6th Airborne zone of operations. 'Pegasus Bridge Gondree' Cafe and the British Airborne Cemetery in Ranville. Lunch on your own. Drive to Paris, arriving early evening, or return to London via ferry arriving evening.

  • We just finished up our tour and it could not have gone any better. Peter was the best guide ever. The touring and itinerary was great.
