Itinerary

Day 1

Full day London tour with your Battlefield Tour guide visiting sites associated with Sir Winston Churchill. St Margaret’s Church where on September 12, 1908, Winston Churchill (33) and Clementine Hozier (23) were married. The Houses of Parliament and 10 Downing Street. Claridge’s, Churchill’s association with this landmark Mayfair hotel. Battle of Britain Monument and life-size bronze statues of the great man. The remains of the church of St Mary Aldermanbury in the City, gutted by fire during the Blitz of 1940. Visit the venue of Sir Winston Churchill’s funeral, St Paul's Cathedral, which dates back to the late 17th century and was designed by Sir Christopher Wren. Sidney Street, where Sir Winston Churchill will be forever associated with the Siege when he was Home Secretary. Overnight London

Day 2

Morning visit to Bletchley Park, the central site of the United Kingdom's Government Code and Cypher School (GC&CS), which during the Second World War regularly penetrated the German Enigma and Lorenz ciphers. Visit Blenheim Palace, Winston Churchill’s birthplace and principal residence of the Dukes of Marlborough. St Martin’s Church cemetery where Churchill is buried. Overnight London

Day 3

The Churchill family loved Chartwell. It was a home and a place that truly inspired Sir Winston. The house is still much as it was when the family lived here - pictures, books and personal mementoes evoking the career and wide-ranging interests of this influential family. The studio is home to the largest single collection of Churchill's paintings. Explore the darkly atmospheric Secret Wartime Tunnels that bury deep into the iconic white cliffs of Dover, with vivid recreations telling the story of the Dunkirk evacuation. See the Battle of Britain Memorial dedicated to Churchill’s famous “Few” who fought in the skies overhead to keep Britain free from invasion. Overnight London

Day 4

Private visit of Harrow School. On 17 April 1888, Churchill went to Harrow School, an independent boarding school for boys founded in 1572 under a Royal Charter granted by Elizabeth I. Visit Churchill War Rooms, to discover the original Cabinet War Rooms, the underground headquarters that sheltered Churchill and his wartime government during the Blitz. Explore the historic rooms that once buzzed with strategies and secrets and visit the interactive Churchill Museum. Overnight
