I was very fortunate to be on their 70th and 75th D-Day celebration tours. The service and attention to details was exceptional. It was very moving to go back.
Morning departure from London for Portsmouth for our ferry crossing with dinner to Normandy. Overnight.
Breakfast. This morning to ‘Le Mesnil’ crossroads; action by the Canadians and 8 Para of the 3rd Para Brigade. After a Remembrance service we visit the Memorial Pegasus Museum and Pegasus Bridge. Packed lunch. Afternoon to Breville, the Merville Battery and the Chateau St Come. Remembrance services before returning to Cabourg. Dinner at own cost. Overnight
Breakfast. Visit Ranville for a special ceremony with the Mayor at the 13th Parachute Battalion Memorial, followed by Mass at Ranville Church and the commemorative service in the CWGC Airborne Cemetery. Packed lunch. Afternoon battlefield tour of the 6th Airborne sector. Dinner and overnight
Breakfast. This morning we will visit the new British Normandy Memorial which records the names of the 22,442 servicemen and women under British command who fell on D-Day and during the Battle of Normandy in the summer of 1944. Packed lunch. Battlefield tour along the British beaches GOLD, JUNO and SWORD. Visit to Putot-en-Auge for a Remembrance Service. Dinner at own cost. Overnight
