Sherlock Holmes Tour
Our tour retraces Sir Conan Doyle's steps, visiting his favourite haunts in London and the south-east, plus the locations which inspired him when writing about the famous detective. The tour can also include film locations from the popular TV Series Sherlock
Highlights
- Visit famous 221B Baker Street – now the Sherlock Holmes museum showcasing a recreation of his study and Dr Watson's bedroom.
- See the London address which features as 221B Baker Street in the latest Sherlock television production.
- Enjoy refreshments in the actual Speedy's Café or The Sherlock Holmes pub, which appears in The Noble Bachelors and memorabilia including Dr Watson's old service revolver.
- The British Museum, often visited by Holmes for his research.
- Enjoy dinner in one of Sherlock Holmes' favourite restaurants.
- Panoramic tours will include other key London locations which feature in the series including Russell Square Gardens, Trafalgar Square, Piccadilly Circus and St Bartholomew's Hospital – the oldest standing hospital in England, plus a visit inside St Paul's Cathedral.
- The Tower of London and The Old Bailey - both used for exterior filming in The Reichenbach Fall
- Buckingham Palace, Irene Adler's home in Eaton Square and Boscobel Place were all used for exterior shots in A Scandal in Blegravia
- Reseidences in London associated with Sherlock Holmes, such as his grandfather's house, Uncle Richard's House plus Sherlock Holmes rooms in Montague Street where he resided before moving to Baker Street
- The Langham Hotel which famously hosted a dinner between Sir Arthur Conan Doyle and Oscar Wilde.
- Accommodation in a 5 star hotel, formerly a French restaurant which opened in 1865, used as a location for The Adventure of the Illustrious Client.
- Visit Kent and journey through the 'Weald' which features prominently in Doyle's novels and stories.
- See Doyle's house in Crowborough and visit Groombridge Place. scene of The Valley of the Fear.
- Dinner at a hotel, which was the former home of the author and where he wrote stories including The Hound of the Baskervilles.
- The Sherlock Holmes Collection and Exhibition in Portsmouth.
- Visit to the West Country to see Conan Doyle's first home and medical practice in Southsea, his home in the New Forest and his grave in Minstead.
