The Regency period - one of the most flamboyant and romanticised eras in British history, made famous by the novels of Jane Austen and the colourful deeds of royals and wartime heroes. Retrace the scandalous steps of the Prince Regent and his cronies and live the high life of the aristocracy as you visit the cities and towns synonymous with the Regency period and the extravagant palaces, Assembly Rooms and notorious gambling clubs.

  • City tour of Regency London including Regent's Park, Regent's Street, Hyde Park and Rotten Row where the nobles rode, St James to see the gentleman's gambling clubs, Pall Mall, St James' Palace, King Street and Almacks, Jermyn Street and Old Bond Street.
  • Trafalgar Square, Nelson's Column, the Royal Mall and Aspley House, home of the hero of Waterloo, the Duke of Wellington.
  • Buckingham Palace, the Royal Mews, Horseguards Parade and Clarence House, home of the Prince Regent.
  • Westminster Abbey where the Regent was crowned and many monarchs are buried.
  • Madame Tussauds, a favourite pastime of the aristocracy and Covent Garden.
  • Kew Gardens and Windsor Castle, where George IV (Prince Regent) died and was buried.
  • A play at one of the many Regency style theatres or a performance at the Royal Opera House.
  • Afternoon tea at Fortnum & Mason's or Brown's Hotel or evening drinks at Claridges.
  • Hampstead Heath, famous hunting ground for highwaymen and site of many a duel. The Spaniard's Inn, used as a hideout by Dick Turpin, England's most notorious highwayman.
  • National Maritime Museum to see the Admiral Nelson exhibition.
  • Dinner at a traditional coaching inn on the old London to Brighton road.
  • City tour of Regency Brighton including Brunswick Square and Terrace, Montpelier, Palmeira Square, Adelaide Crescent, St Andrew's Church, the King's Arms pub, reportedly once a brothel for the Regent and the home of his secret wife, Maria Fitzherbert.
  • The Royal Pavilion in Brighton, the Prince Regent's spectacular seaside palace and the Regency Town House.
  • Petworth House (National Trust), where Regency series 'Bridgerton' was filmed.
  • City tour of Georgian Bath including the Roman Baths; the Assembly Rooms, the centre of fashionable life; the Fashion Museum and its Regency costumes; Milsom Street and No 1 Royal Crescent, magnificently restored to reflect a fashionable Regency home.
  • The Jane Austen Centre, depicting the story of Regency Bath and Georgian-style afternoon tea in the Regency Tea Room.
  • Royal Tunbridge Wells with its independent boutiques, tea rooms and picturesque colonnaded Pantiles where the aristocrats used to come to 'take the waters'.
  • Optional: for the ladies, a high society-style lesson on etiquette, a flower-arranging lesson, a treatment in a luxurious day spa or a Personal Shopping Appointment in a major London store. For the men, a fencing lesson or a suit-fitting at a premium Saville Row tailor.
