Enid Blyton Group Tour

Roam the beautiful Jurassic Coast and visit the places that inspired Enid Blyton, author of some the most well-loved children's stories of all time. A unique opportunity to bring to life the many picturesque and quirky locations which inspired Enid Blyton to create the adventures of the Famous Five, Secret Seven, Mallory Towers as well as many other timeless children's classics. Visit Corfe Castle (National Trust), inspiration for Kirrin Island, shop for souvenirs in charming Swanage, take a ride on a vintage railway line and enjoy a picnic on a Famous Five beach.

In celebration of The Magic Faraway Tree film coming to screens in March 2026, we are excited to offer Faraway Tree inspired overnight stays in treehouses, woodland lodges, country hotels and at glamping sites.

Tour Highlights

  • Beckenham, where Enid grew up in several different properties - her affection for the town is reflected by her naming Malory Towers after one of the town's streets, Malory Close. See a school she worked at and her church.
  • Stay in hotels frequented by Enid, including Knoll House hotel where you can follow the Enid Blyton Trail.
  • The ruins of Corfe Castle (National Trust) which inspired famous Kirrin Island, the setting for the Famous Five's first adventure, Five on a Treasure Island and which featured in several more Famous Five books.
  • Visit the Isle of Purbeck, which was bought by Blyton and her husband. Enjoy a round of golf, just as Enid and Kenneth Darrell Waters did. Hold Enid's actual putter.
  • Explore the Jurassic Coast and the many sites that inspired Enid's stories, including the picturesque seaside town of Swanage, with its Victorian pier and award-winning sandy beach. It is believed that Enid took inspiration from the locals when creating her characters. Enid and her husband used to swim around the pier in the evening.
  • Enjoy a steam train ride on the heritage Swanage Railway, a route taken by Enid herself. Steam locomotives feature in several of her stories.
  • Noddy's Town was inspired by a line of picturesque cottages in Studland village and it was rumoured she based Mr Plod on Studland's resident policeman.
  • Follow in the footsteps of Julian, Dick, George, Anne and Timmy the dog as you take a ferry ride across to Brownsea Island (National Trust), the inspiration for Whispering Island in Five have a Mystery to Solve. One of the only places you can see red squirrels in the UK.
  • Beautiful Kimmeridge Bay, where 'rocks jutter up from the beach, surrounded by limpid rock pools'....the setting for the children's picnic in Five Fall into Adventure.
  • Climb the Clavell Tower, a four storey circular tower high on a cliff overlooking Kimmeridge Bay, believed to have inspired a scene in Five Fall into Adventure.
  • Visit the Blue Pool Nature Reserve, which features in  Five go off in a Caravan and Five go to Mystery Moor. Enjoy a traditional afternoon tea in the tearooms, woodland walks, wildlife spotting, scenic viewpoints and the UK’s longest rope bridge.
  • Stair Hole, believed to have inspired the secret whirlpool in The Rubadub Mystery.
  • Manor Farm, the Dorset farm that Blyton and her husband purchased in the 1950's. The farm provided inspiration for many of her novels and was the setting for Five on Finniston Farm.
  • Enjoy a traditional afternoon tea or a picnic on a beach or in the woods, typical of those enjoyed by the Famous Five and Secret Seven!
  • Fun activities include zip wires, high wires, boat trips, paddle boarding, horse riding, bike rides, wildlife watching, abseiling, foraging, archery, croquet, treasure hunts, scavenger hunts and many other adventures.

What Our Clients Say

I was very fortunate to be on their 70th and 75th D-Day celebration tours. The service and attention to details was exceptional. It was very moving to go back.

As a Jane Austen enthusiast, this tour was perfect - and the Jane Austen Festival in Bath was just fabulous to see!

Words fail me...The Downton Abbey was a perfectly wonderful travel experience! We did not know we would be the ONLY guests at the Abbey. When we realised how truly exclusive our tour was we were speechless! Surreal being there and actually meeting Lady Carnarvon.
